This Old House

My mom sold her house in Lewistown this week. It's the house I grew up in. I'm certainly having mixed feelings about it. Not that it was anything spectacular, but for the sake of sentiment, I'm missing it already. In church, the speaker mentioned the error of wanting to live in the past rather than learn from it. SO--I'm trying diligently to relish in the memories, while being grateful for the present. With dad's death and Toby's recent challenges, I like to think about happier and more normal times. That's why I'm including a picture of our garbage can. Our house is a classic, post-WWII style home---resembling all the others on the street. It's unique feature was the garbage can that pulled out. One minute a cupboard like all the rest, but open the door and you will find---A HIDDEN, PULL OUT GARBAGE CAN! Now, that was style! I hope the new owner appreciates the versatility of such a garbage can....in such a normal house.
Farewell 15th Avenue South!

  1. I think she should take us all out to lunch now that she is loaded.

  2. Hey! And, another one bites the dust! You can only go so long before someone talks you into to starting a blog! Now...it is a constant nagging on your mind...to constantly update. Oh well, it's fun though. Good luck!

  3. I'm sure it's sad to see your house as part of the past now Annie...good job on trying to look to the future. And wow, that trash can rocks! I wonder how long it will take the new owners to even find it...
